MD900 · Predecessor of the Vibes

MD900

The Powerful Desktop Synth.
True stereophonic digital synthesizer with 16 stereo voices. The first production instrument from Mayer EMI — shipping from 2021 to 2024 — and the foundation on which the Vibes MD850 was built.
The Idea

Built for Sound Design.

With its layout and usability optimized for sound design, the MD900 was conceived as the perfect synthesizer for the studio or home setup. Equipped with our XVA Sound Engine, it delivered amazing sounds from clear highs to powerful lows.
Its virtual analog architecture, accompanied by modern digital elements like stereo wavetable oscillators and effects, was extended by additional functionalities like Arpeggiator and a Drum Computer — leaving no wishes unfulfilled.
What Made It Special

Three Things the MD900 Got Right

Stereo in Every Detail

Full stereo oscillators with 4x unison, dual stereo filters, amps, and even LFOs. The architecture and precision of the XVA Engine allowed for an immersive sound experience — earth-shattering basses, deep pads, and crystal-clear stereo leads just a few touches away.

Designed for Musicians

The front panel layout gave immediate access to all the parameters you need. Quick Navigation Buttons displayed the desired function on the touchscreen. The teach-in functionality let you create a new parameter modulation directly from the panel. Sound design at a new level of ease and efficiency.

Quality You Can Feel

Every button, encoder, fader, and display selected with utmost quality and reliability in mind. Aluminium housing with walnut wood front and back. Assembled and checked by hand in our own production in Austria — every synth a joy to unbox.

The Story

From the MD900 to the Vibes.

The MD900 was our first production instrument — the result of nine years of development, prototypes, and Superbooth feedback. It established the XVA Sound Engine, the panel-driven workflow, and the build quality that defines every Mayer EMI synthesizer to this day.
In 2024, we launched the Vibes MD850 — a more compact format using the same XVA engine, with VibesConnect, expanded oscillator types, and a refined workflow based on three years of customer feedback. Presets created on the MD900 transfer directly to the Vibes.
MD900 owners continue to receive firmware updates and full support. The Vibes is the active product, but the MD900 remains a valued part of our story.
